The LiMAx liver function test receives the Innovation Award Berlin Brandenburg

Humedics GmbH (producer and distributor of the LiMAx measurement devices) received the Innovation Award Berlin Brandenburg 2014 for the "personalized liver check by the LiMAx breath test". Humedics and four other winners were selected out of 122 applicants from Berlin and Brandenburg. The Innovation Award Berlin Brandenburg is jointly awarded by the German Federal States of Berlin and Brandenburg since 1992. Annually, up to five awardees are honored for innovative products, processes or technology solutions. See here the video of the award winning LiMAx test.

IASGO Worldcongress 2014

Several members of our group joined the IASGO Worldcongress 2014 in Vienna. PD Dr. Martin Stockmann gave a lecture about "The strength of the quantitative liver function breath test (LiMAx) in liver diseases" as an invited speaker; Dr. Maciej Malinowski and Jan Bednarsch presented scientific results and received the Laurenzo Capussotti Award.

Sabine Gebhardt et al. analysed risk factors of metabolic disorders after liver transplanation. The original article entitled "Risk factors of metabolic disorders after liver transplantation: an analysis of data from fasted patients" was recently accepted in Transplantation.

Maximilian Jara et al. analysed the technical efficacy of LiMAx in the perioperative setting. The original article entitled Reliable assessment of liver function using LiMAx was recently accepted in Journal of Surgical Research.

Maciej Malinowski and Maximilian Jara analysed the applicability of LiMAx to evaluate hepatic impairment in chronic liver failure patients. This original article entitled Enzymatic Liver Function Capacity Correlates with Disease Severity of Patients with Liver Cirrhosis: A Study with the LiMAx Test was recently accepted for publication in Digestiv Diseases and Sciences.

Georg Brinkmann et al. analysed survival in patients with liver tumours recieving brachytherapy. This original article entitled CT-guided high-dose-rate brachytherapy of liver tumours does not impair hepatic function and shows high overall safety and favourable survival rates will be published in Annals of Surgical Oncology.

Maciej Malinowksi et al. analysed the effect of the liver on adiponectin metabolism.  The originalarticle The role of the liver in the metabolism of adiponectin and proinsulin will be published in the Journal of Diabetes & Clinical Metabolism

The committee of the ISAGO Moscow Meeting 2014 considered Martin Stockmann as a speaker in the scientific program. The meeting will be held from 06-08 June 2014 in Moscow, Russia.
